Daniel Millea: Founder of Chamberlain One

Daniel Millea, is the founder of Chamberlain One, a done-for-you job-generation system for local moving and hauling companies, and that’s me, so I’m going to write this one in my own words. If you searched my name, you’re probably trying to figure out who I am and whether I know what I’m talking about, which is a fair thing to check before you trust anyone with your marketing.

Who Daniel Millea Is

I have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, and hands-on experience in the hauling business, and that shaped how I look at all of this. Computer science teaches you to break a problem into inputs and outputs and to ask what is actually causing a result, instead of accepting that something just works because someone says it does. When I started looking at how moving and hauling companies get their jobs, I saw a lot of money going into things nobody could trace back to a booked job, and I wanted to fix that.

Why I Started Chamberlain One

Chamberlain One: the name of my business, a marketing company that works only with local moving and hauling companies. I started it because I kept watching good operators get burned by agencies. The pattern was usually the same, an agency promised a lot, took a monthly fee, sent a report full of clicks and impressions, and the owner’s phone didn’t ring any more than it did before. As a result, a lot of owners stopped trusting marketing at all, and honestly, I understand why, because I would have felt the same way in their position.

So Chamberlain One was built to be the other option. We only work with moving and hauling companies, we measure results in jobs and not in vanity numbers, and we explain things in plain language instead of marketing talk. If a number is good I’ll say so, and if something isn’t going to work for your business I’ll tell you that too, even if it costs us the sale.

What Chamberlain One Does

Moving company marketing: the work of getting a moving or hauling business in front of people who are actively looking to hire one, and turning those people into booked jobs. That’s all we do. Our work is built on four systems, Chamberlain Reclamation, Beacon Protocol, Fast Lane Booking, and Loop of Loyalty, and each one handles a different part of getting and keeping jobs. I describe what each one does for a company’s numbers, but I don’t publish exactly how they work, because that’s the part that took years to get right and I’m not handing it to the agencies that burned our customers in the first place.

If you want a rough idea of what a full pipeline could look like for your own company, we built the Chamberlain System Calculator for that. You plug in your numbers and it shows you an estimate, and it tells you plainly that it’s an estimate.

How I Think About Marketing for Movers

I don’t think moving company owners need to become marketing experts, and I don’t think they should have to. You already have a business to run. What you need is someone who understands how your jobs actually come in, who handles the work, and who shows you what happened in terms you can check against your own calendar and your own bank account.
